Graphic Design Contractor and Project Manager

The Graphic Design Contractor and Project Manager will be responsible for helping maintain the project portfolio and assist the Associate Director, Corporate Brand, manage the workload.  This role will be a hands-on role that will help the design team manage the large number of projects related to the Vertex corporate brand.  S/he will support the Associate Director of Corporate Brand meeting the needs of a creative, fast-paced Corporate Communications team. Projects will fall across a range of digital, social, presentation and print communication activities. The ideal candidate will be motivated to produce high quality work under tight deadlines and have excellent project management skills. This person will report to the Associate Director of Corporate Brand and will be based in the Boston, MA office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project load of corporate branding projects and assign to projects to team members. 
  • Support the conceptualization, design and creation of visual elements for print and digital assets, including graphics, photography, infographics and video
  • Provide visual assets, production support and organization of corporate PowerPoint presentations for the needs of executive committee members
  • Support graphic needs for social media and digital channels
  • Serve as a steward for the corporate Style guide; uphold standards for corporate brand by ensuring compliance and consistency throughout all materials
  • Organize and manage all design assets; provide access to partners/vendors as needed
  • Help to sustain the overall look and feel of company branding in keeping with Vertex’s overall visual approach, including counsel and guidance to others (project managers, employees, external designers) on application of corporate style and branding
  • Contribute creative ideas to engage stakeholders (employees, community, partners, others)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Digital Arts/Graphic Design or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in graphic design, with a combination of agency and client/corporate preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects)
  • Experience creating campaigns and extending the look and feel through various materials
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into concise, clear visuals and language
  • Familiarity and experience with production and printing processes
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, follow-through, attention to detail and high sense of urgency
  • Flexible and able to succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a collaborator and team-player
  • Demonstrated good judgment; ability to effectively prioritize work load and pivot between demands
  • Experience in video graphics and production a plus
  • Results oriented; takes pride in delivering consistently high-quality work
