Job Summary:
This position has responsibility and oversight for the development, support, and administration of Workday HCM and will drive overall governance, enhancement, and optimization of the platform. The Associate Director for Workday Solutions is charged with ensuring the success of efforts spanning the entire Workday lifecycle including development, testing, implementation, enhancement updates, and production releases. This includes all normal production activities performed by the Workday operations team including business process administration, security administration, reporting, testing, and quality assurance as well as new solutions built on the existing platform to meet future business needs and implementation of configuration and deployment requirements for future Workday modules. The individual in this position must have broad knowledge of business processes and offer solid planning and guidance to ensure functional areas are provided with outstanding support and effective solutions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders from academic and administrative units to regularly assess the health of the Workday platform, determine requirements around new needs, plan for uptake of new features and functionality, coordinate testing activities for semi-annual releases, and lead the steering committee in Workday governance structure. Leadership, team building, project management, vendor management, and customer-centricity are key characteristics of a successful candidate for this position.

Responsibilities 
•    Lead a team of Workday operations staff and oversee staffing and professional development responsibilities for the team, including hiring, training, evaluation, retention, and growth planning
•    Provide direction for all Workday operations activity, including configuration, business process/security administration, reporting, data import/export, integrations, break/fix, and testing to provide end-to-end support for the entire Workday platform
•    Plan and coordinate necessary testing to ensure it is successfully completed for all changes and that any issues which arise are properly captured and resolved
•    Manage the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of level 2/3 escalated issues
•    Manage activities with embedded support resources in functional areas as well as external third-party vendors for post-production support
•    Proactively monitor Workday feature release and weekly patch documentation
•    Lead meetings with Workday stakeholders in functional areas to recommend features for uptake and plan the deployment of new features to achieve continuous improvement of the Workday platform
•    Coordinate all activities around semi-annual feature releases and the implementation of additional Workday modules and functionality
•    Build the roadmap for Workday feature adoption and optimization and regularly track progress and usage metrics
•    Chair the Workday governance steering committee and facilitate regular meetings and communications
•    Coordinate change management efforts for the Workday platform
•    Proactively and continuously pursue professional development and training

Requirements
•    Bachelor's degree in a business or technology-related field, or equivalent training and experience
•    3+ years of progressive strategic and operational management experience with the Workday platform, or direct oversight of a Workday implementation
•    Professional experience in higher education preferred
•    Project management experience with large-scale system implementations and enhancements
•    Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and business initiatives
•    Experience capturing requirements and documenting business processes
•    Ability to analyze business operations and translate business needs into system solutions
