Keys to the Position

7+ years of QA experience – Primarily responsible for manual testing

Strong SQL skills – 7+ years – ability to write queries, use SQL daily to navigate thru the database (they will be doing much more than just writing select statements with SQL - please screen this out prior to submitting)

Oracle experience is a must - at least 3 years of experience working with the database

Financial services experience is a must – (should have a general understanding of the different security types)  Experience with Compliance and or Trading would be a big +

Experience with direct agile testing experience is a must as well (1+ years)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications    

•    Minimum 5-7 years of software QA experience
    •Domain knowledge of operations processes for a financial services firm
    •Solid understanding of quality assurance and software development methodologies
    • Expertise with all aspects of testing, including functional, structural, regression, load and performance testing
    • Experience working on high-volume transaction applications
    • Strong knowledge of Linux, Oracle database and SQL
    • Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical application
    • Knowledge of the Agile development and project management processes
    • Knowledge of the Compliance operations desirable
    • Expertise with QA tools such as QC, JIRA, QTP and Load runner
    •Demonstrated skills in backend, mid-level, integration, deployment, or large-scale application testing
    •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    •Strong verbal and written communication skills
            
Special Knowledge/Skills    

•Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
    •Self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision
    •Confidence to participate and contribute within a fast-paced, technically aggressive, highly skilled and collegial development team

Description:

            
Responsibilities    

•    Create detailed test plans, test cases for the specified application.
    •    Create data as needed for manual testing
    •    Create, update/modify SQL queries of Oracle DBs 
    •    Create performance and load testing tests 
    •    Communicate clearly with Development, Product Management, and Business Analyst in the day to day aspects of the project
    •    Perform detailed analysis of application to understand business workflow
    •    Research and communicate product software defects to team members
    •    Provide timely status and planning updates
