This role is responsible for providing overall technical and functional leadership for our end-to-end Workday technology strategy and roadmap, including all aspects of implementation, integrations and continuous improvement to ensure that Workday is enabling our business needs and growth trajectory. This role will will work closely with our HR and Finance partners.

In addition to providing leadership, this role will provide configuration, testing and user technical support for all HR initiatives within the Workday application. It will partner closely with our user base to implement product enhancements, manage upgrades, and provide clear and concise operational workflow documentation. 

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands on leader with deep experience with Workday. This position requires someone with an in-depth knowledge of the Workday application as well as extensive command of all people processes and the employee experience. The leader will work collaboratively with HR and Finance as well as Legal, Compliance and IT teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and execution for all initiatives supporting the firm’s Workday platform.
  • Lead all aspects of Workday including: modules implementation,  process transformation, change management, governance, configuration, security, data conversation, integrations and reporting
  • Partner with the HR team to deeply understand the firm’s talent strategy, technology needs, employee experience to provide guidance to shape the decision making on Workday configuration
  • Develop a product strategy roadmap and serve as the Workday product evangelist
  • Provide strong project management skills to oversee and manage all system related issues working closely with HR and Finance teams
  • Support projects to roll out new modules and functionality including requirements documentation, design, UAT testing, implementation and training. Modules will include HCM, Benefits, Learning, Compensation, Recruiting, Payroll, and Performance
  • Manage and configure updates to Workday by partnering with the HR, Finance and IT teams, documenting requirements, tracking updates through Jira, and managing updates and delivery
  • Be the primary contact for functional & technical support on Workday
  • Work closely with software vendor in the planning and design of application changes (including upgrades) and coordinating on delivery and deployment processes
  • Support integration management; understanding current interfaces, support new interface development and validate requirements
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure high quality prior to deployment
  • Create, maintain, and analyze ad hoc requests from all levels of the organization
  • Develop, enhance, and update HR metrics, dashboards, and reports for distribution
  • Develop user procedures, guidelines and training materials including videos built within Workday
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve the employee experience, reduce risk and costs, and improve compliance and controls
  • Establish robust governance of Workday to ensure a durable implementation, high data quality and management of confidential data
  • Develop and perform data audits to ensure accuracy of data and security within Workday
  • Think broadly and provide innovative options/solutions such as recommendations regarding new releases and upgrades
  •  Stay abreast of external trends and new suppliers to advise/consult with HR partners to deliver on their strategy and inform the technology roadmap

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Computer Science or related concentration is required
  • Experience in solution evaluation, design, configuration, implementation, integration, and administration of HR technology tools including Workday HCM
  • 10+ years of experience in the HR Technology space, with proven capabilities in leading Workday implementations and integrations
  • Experience in creating, documenting and managing plans, technical specifications and business status reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, communication with other IT members, business users, upper management and support consultants is a large part of this role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
