Job Description
In August of 2018, Maine had received a Data Driven Prevention Initiative (DDPI) related “surge” funding opportunity under US CDC Public Health Emergency Response: Cooperative Agreement for Emergency Response: Public Health Crisis (Opioid Crisis CoAg). In order to sustain the efforts of this funding, The Project Manager will provide time limited services in order to ensure the project is effective in utilizing high quality, timely data to drive technology-informed, prevention response activities across OD2A Strategy (4) Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs.
This funding opportunity will continue work focused on: increasing comprehensiveness and timeliness of surveillance data; building state and local capacity for public health programs determined to be promising based on research evidence; making Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) easier to use and access; and working with health systems, insurers, and communities to improve opioid prescribing. It adds new work focused on linkages to care and other areas of innovation supported by evidence-based practice.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to agreed-upon scope, timelines and budgets. This individual also tracks to closure critical tasks to ensure the project stays on schedule.
REQUIRED:
Project Management; Expert, 5+yrs.
Experience leading successful software implementation and data migrations projects – 5+yrs.
Experience establishing and leading stakeholder committees; experience working with federal stakeholders a plus
Ability to manage large project teams
Ability to coordinate with internal and external parties to collect data and meet requirements
Ability to navigate political issues with the project
Able to manage project risks
Ability to track and prepare reports on project risks, both verbally and in writing
Strong planning skills; able to pull together training materials and organization management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Deadline oriented. Ability to motivate and direct the teams to stay on task
Must have strong, outgoing personality with the ability to be stern when needed while also establishing and maintaining a positive team work environment
