Job Description – Senior Business Analyst

Are you a seasoned Business Analyst with a passion for driving technological innovation and process improvement? We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead impactful projects within a dynamic environment. Based in Boston, MA, this role offers the opportunity to work on critical enterprise systems, collaborate with top-tier leadership, and make a tangible difference in the organization’s digital transformation journey.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll establish and maintain analytical standards that streamline systems analysis, requirements gathering, and project deliverables. You will partner with senior business and IT leaders to prioritize and drive projects that maximize business value, ensuring solutions meet strategic objectives. Your expertise will support workflow analysis, impact assessments, and the development of best practices for enterprise applications. You'll guide teams through requirements elicitation, functional specifications, and process improvements, while helping develop training materials for analysts and programmers. Your involvement spans the entire project lifecycle—from initiation through implementation—ensuring seamless alignment between technical solutions and business needs. Additionally, you'll champion continuous improvement of analysis standards and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for eCommerce applications and other enterprise systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business systems analysis experience, with a focus on Property and Casualty insurance domains including Policy Admin, Billing, Claims, and Financial applications
  • 15+ years in software development, with demonstrated success in a technical environment
  • Deep understanding of AGILE and SDLC methodologies
  • Proven ability to perform workflow analysis, impact assessments, and develop standards for enterprise applications
  • Strong experience with Web Analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Tag Manager
  • Proficiency with Web Services, APIs, SQL, XML, HTML, XSLT, JSON, and tools like Postman, REST API, SOAP UI
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills with strategic problem-solving abilities
  • Experience supporting digital and web-based applications

Nice to Have Skills

  • Project Management certifications (PMP, etc.)
  • MS SQL Database management and data analysis expertise
  • Knowledge of third-party integrations like LexisNexis Prefill, CREDIT, MRV, and CLUE
  • Experience with Web Analytics and Tag Management platforms beyond the basics
  • INS, CPCU, IIBA CBAP/AAC certifications or equivalents

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus
  • Prior experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is highly desirable
  • Relevant certifications in project management or business analysis are a plus

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite at our Boston location, with potential for some remote work flexibility
  • Clear criminal background check and eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders

Dan Hinckley

Dan joined TPA in September 2024 as President. He is responsible for building the business processes and consistency TPA offers to its clients and consultants. Dan is focused on the overall success of TPA by applying his core principles of Attitude, Personal Accountability, Perseverance, and Habits. All departments report into Dan and are working toward the overall improvement and growth of the organization. “We have to focus on providing an amazing experience and value to all of our clients and consultants.”

Dan has over 25 years of experience in the staffing industry working across all areas of staffing including technology, biotech, life sciences, finance & accounting as well as general. He has held roles from Director of Finance to CFO as well as EVP and President.

Dan graduated from Assumption University with a BS in Accounting and received his master’s in accounting from Bentley University. Dan is an avid golfer and family man.

Before transitioning into the private sector, Sam served in the British Military for nearly 19 years, where he developed a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and teamwork before being medically retired.

One of Tony’s favorite sayings echoes that idea, “TPA is big enough to change and small enough to change”.
